The pillow method is the act of writing down an affirmation or desire on a piece of paper, and then placing that paper under your pillow.
Each night, you’ll visualize your happy outcome as you drift off to sleep. As you repeat this process, you will become a vibrational match to your desire.
When this happens, you’re a powerful magnet for all sorts of positive experiences. The pillow method is a beautiful way to manifest through deliberate intention and visualization.
How Does Pillow Method Manifestation Work?
Like all manifestation games and techniques, pillow method manifestation works by law of attraction.
You’re an energetic being, and your energetic vibration is determined by the emotions you feel the most strongly.
So, take a moment now to think about something you want. What is your initial emotional reaction?
If you’re feeling impatient, self-pity, doubtful, or frustrated, it’s going to be very difficult for you to attract your desires into your life.
This is because negative emotions are a vibrational mismatch to your happy outcome. You can’t focus on negative thoughts and attract positive things! It’s just not possible.
The pillow manifestation method will help you to capture the positive emotions you associate with your wish coming true, such as satisfaction, excitement, and joy.
When you’re able to conjure positive emotions about your desire before it manifests, your work is done! The universe will always deliver you experiences that match your true feelings.

The pillow method only requires an affirmation or goal, and a pen and paper.
So, before we walk through the technique step-by-step, let’s help you find the perfect affirmation to place under your pillow.
You can use the pillow method to manifest anything:
- successful project
- dream vacation
- financial abundance
- new job
- a new circle of friends
- spiritual awakening
- guidance and clarity
- heart healing
- physical healing or workout goal
There are no limits when it comes to setting intentions, so whatever your heart desires, put it down on your paper. Don’t hold back!
Write your affirmation in the present tense, as if your wish has already come true. For example:
- I’m in a loving relationship that brings out the best in me and my partner.
- I have a fulfilling career and work with people who appreciate me.
- I have more than enough of everything that I need.
- I am financially prosperous with money to spare.
- I have a strong healthy body with plenty of energy to accomplish my tasks.
- I am wildly successful in my new career.

How To Do The Pillow Method
The pillow manifesting method is so easy. You only need a few Here is the process for you to follow step-by-step.
You only need a few supplies:
- Your affirmation or intention
- Pen + paper
- A pillow 😉
- Crystals, essential oils, manifesting journal are optional
1) Set Your Intention
I recommend just picking one affirmation or intention at a time.
Pick your affirmation from the examples above or come up with your own.
You can use a simple one-liner affirmation or write in as much detail as you’d like. As long as your words capture the essence of what you want to create in your life.
Be sure to choose your words with reverence, as though whatever you write will absolutely come true; almost like you’re casting a magical spell.
2) Write It Down
Once you’ve settled on your affirmation, write it down on paper.
At this point, you may want to honor your intentions by folding up the paper, holding it to your heart, and blessing it.
You may say something like, “and so it is” or “let it be so.” Or, perhaps you’d like to offer a prayer or ask your spirit team to stay by your side while you sleep. Do whatever you feel guided to do.
This is a sacred moment, as you call on the powers of the universe to co-create your desires. Your life is supposed to feel charmed and blessed!
Your paper is the very first piece of physical evidence that you’re desires are manifesting, so get excited!
3) Place It Under Your Pillow
This step is self-explanatory. Just place the paper that holds your affirmation under your bed pillow. This is your affirmation’s new home for the next few nights.
You can massage a drop of manifesting oil into your paper or place a healing crystal on top if you feel guided (more on that below in the Add-Ons section).
4) Visualize Your Happy Outcome
Now for the fun part! Get cozy in your bed and remember the affirmation that’s tucked away beneath your pillow.
As you drift off to sleep, instead of reviewing the events of the day or worrying about tomorrow’s schedule, focus all of your attention on what it will be like once your dream comes true.
- How will it feel?
- What will be different?
- How will you have changed?
- What emotions will you experience?
Let your imagination roam free because it is the magical component to the pillow method. Keep this pleasant visualization going as you drift off to sleep.
Repeat this step for as many nights in a row as you see fit.
5) Let It Go
Your dreams often come rushing into your life when you least expect it. This is not a coincidence!
When you chase something and stress over it you hold yourself away from your desires. So, after a few nights, remove the paper from your pillow and trust that the universe will take over.
At this point, your work is done. All you need to do going forward is to keep your eyes open for signs on next steps. Only take action when you feel truly inspired to do so.
In other words, there is no effort in or hustle necessary, because you’re not trying to force anything happen. Instead, you’re simply allowing upgrades to flow to you. This is how delivered creation works.
Bottom line, keep your pillow affirmation someplace special; don’t discard it until after it manifests, or if your desires change and you no longer want it.
How Long To Do The Pillow Method
I recommend keeping your affirmation under your pillow and doing your visualizations for at least 3 nights. You can keep going for as long as you find it enjoyable to do so.
The only guideline is that you stop doing it once it begins to feel like work.
Your pillow manifestation should be a fun experience that you look forward to doing. So when it no longer feels enjoyable, you know you’re done.
