Lymphatic Drainage
Your lymphatic system is responsible for ridding the body of toxins and it doesn’t come with a pump (your circulatory system, for example, has the heart to keep things moving). Dry brushing one way to stimulate the lymph to help rid your body of unwanted toxins. It’s an ancient practice that removes cell waste and toxins you’ve absorbed from your environment. If that wasn’t reason enough to adopt this practice, dry brushing also improves circulation and reduces the appearance of cellulite – bonus! Simply brush your dry skin in long strokes toward the heart.
Another way to get things moving is to bounce! Fitness rebounders are a fantastic way to support lymphatic draining, and it’s fun. I keep one in my home office. Every hour or so, I bounce for a few minutes to get things circulating. This is the exact one that I have – it only takes up a few square feet of floor space:
