If you’re anything like me, you know what it’s like to struggle with anxiety; and you’ve probably noticed there’s no way to rationalize with that emotion. When you’re in the moment, there don’t seem to be any words that bring relief; the fearful ego holds onto those nerves and simply will not let go.
But what if you knew that the very existence of anxiety is an indicator that your mind and your soul are on different pages? Your soul is never worried or afraid; those are emotions exclusive to your human mind. So when you have an experience that triggers those feelings, you fall out of alignment with what your soul knows to be true: everything is always working out just perfectly for you. The discord between mind and spirit results in discomfort in the body, which you identify as anxiety. Who knew, right?!
Next time you feel anxious, remind yourself that it’s just your body’s way of reminding you that your fearful thoughts are an illusion. In a way, it’s physical proof that your thoughts on the subject causing you angst are out of whack. Thank your anxiety for the reminder, and tell it you’ve got the situation under control. This little trick will help you to shift your perspective, and rest a bit easier.
Try this next time you’re stressin’ and let me know how it helps!
